7 Days Of Summer Beauty Classics '08 - Day Three

The Body Shop Vitamine E Moisture Serum

Hanging around in the intensity of summer's heat wilts the best in me. What makes it more uncomfortable and at times unbearable, is that greasy feeling some moisturizers leave on my skin. I know it is tempting but this is not the time to skip moisturizers as it is always important to keep our skin hydrated.

This is where skin serums come in. They nourish and feed the skin and generally gets absorbed so well by our skin that they almost become undetectable. The texture of the Vitamine E Moisture Serum is somewhere between a gel, serum and a lotion. The liquid applies firstly like that of a lotion and when it is warmed up by the skin, it becomes a gel. Finally, when it is fully absorbed, it feels like you only have a serum on the skin. The Vitamine E in the serum is a nice bonus because of its anti-oxidative properties. The fluid also contains Wheat Germ Oil and Tara Bush seed extract.

This potion is a firm Summer Beauty Classic of mine and it keeps my skin well-hydrated, soft to the touch and fresh. It also works well at night under a heavier moisturizer or under makeup during the day.

I am going to have to check that out. My skin get super duper dry in the winter so I am always on the lookout for something that moisturizes well without wearing you down.

I'm really suprised at this Body Shop number is it really that good?

shopinchic...I believe so, I think I saw it when I was in Canada :)

seeker..hey! You've got some pretty good products that you love right now too right?

Jamilia...this one definitely doesn't weigh me down. But for night time use, I like a heavier moisturizer ontop this. Really keeps me soft and beats the more expensive Clinique for me.

make do and mend...this was a surprise for me as well! I first had to find out why their Vit E cream gets such high points and then decided to include this serum in with the bill. It is one of the best hydrating gel/serum/lotion for me.

i've been thinking of trying this once my current supply of creams/serums run out. What does the texture feel like? You mentioned it becomes a gel, but does it feel oily at all due to the wheat germ oil?

I have never found anything at the Body Shop that I love. But, this does sound good. I have been tempted to try the La Mer serum. But, this has a much better price point.
